Providing Value to Arizonans: The Thomas R. Brown Family Private Foundation Invests in Opportunities

Posted on December 17, 2024 • Category: Story

The Arizona We Want is a vision for success and shared commitment to creating a thriving future for all Arizonans. Achieving this ambitious goal requires collaboration across the state, and in Southern Arizona, we’ve found a remarkable partner in the Thomas R. Brown Family Private Foundation whose philanthropic focus is naturally aligned with many of our impact initiatives, namely education, workforce, and civic engagement.

“Center for the Future of Arizona’s mission and vision goes hand-in-hand with the mission and vision of the Thomas R. Brown Family Private Foundation. Our collaboration drives meaningful change in Southern Arizona across a variety of interests with the shared goal of advancing the quality of life for all Arizonans.” - Sarah Brown Smallhouse, President, Thomas R. Brown Foundations

As a testament to their shared commitment, the Brown Foundations joined other investors in supporting CFA’s Building Arizona’s Bright Future Together campaign with a three-year gift.

Empowering Change in Southern Arizona

One of the many ways in which the Brown Foundations partners with CFA is through our workforce initiatives in Southern Arizona. The Brown Foundations recognizes that a healthy economy is supported by interconnected ecosystems of education, local government, workforce development, and the private sector. As a key supporter of CFA’s Southern Arizona Workforce Leadership Academy, they are continuing the legacy of Thomas R. Brown’s Burr-Brown Corporation in creating opportunities and driving economic growth in Tucson and Arizona. Thanks to the Brown Foundations’ partnership and support, CFA can convene local leaders in Southern Arizona to imagine and advance dynamic solutions for region-specific workforce challenges.
